The big challenge was how to maintain the immersion of the game and reconcile it with a purchase journey that was intuitive and organic.
For this to be done in an aligned way, we had many chats and conversations between the teams at Store n8 and Walmart.
We had some concerns about the UI of this journey as it couldn't be something that took the player out of the game's immersion. So we set out to understand how the game's UI and its components worked.
We looked for several situations within the game where secondary menus appeared to show us a secondary action within the game, such as buying equipment for your avatar or different clothes.
With this, we were able to understand how the component behaved and how we could create a journey more aligned with the game's visual guide.
The big challenge was how to replicate these behaviors that were so unique to the game.
After we had an idea of how the components would look, we started to understand the flow of the journey with the touch points and interactions. We mapped all the steps that the user would have to take to complete an in-game purchase and receive it at home.
We opted for a look that united the real product with the game's environment. The idea was precisely to give that feeling that the product is from the "real" world.
We created some components fully aligned with the game's visual guide. We used more square components with a more stylized font for the game.
Below you can see how the final version of the journey turned out with the purchase ideation completed.
At the end of the project, we understand that we deliver a purchase journey aligned with the game's proposal and keeping the player's immersion always in the foreground.
